John Ansell, MSc. (Security Management), CertEd
During his 32 years service in one of the UK’s largest police forces with over 4,000 members of staff, John performed various duties and spent a number of years as ‘Chief of Police’ in the Duke of Marlborough’s home town of Woodstock - in Oxfordshire - the former country home and final resting place of Sir Winston Churchill.
He managed a ‘Technical Support Unit’ which may have been the forerunner to his developing expertise in the gathering of evidential material by way of video technology.
In February 1998 John was elected as chairman of the Standards Committee of the UK’s national CCTV User Group on which he represented the Association of Chief Police Officers. He was editor of a nationally accepted Code of Practice and Procedural Manual for the operation of CCTV.
John also chaired a British Standards Committee examining the operation and management of CCTV schemes. Just prior to retirement John took on the role of joint director of the CCTV User Group alongside the founder director, Barbara Morgan. Under their leadership the User Group won a coveted European Award for their ‘initiatives in coordinating the successful operation of town center CCTV schemes’
For several years John was the 'Licensing Inspector' making him responsible for enforcing liquor licensing laws, presenting cases to the licensing board and offering evidence in court proceedings.
John holds a Certificate in Education (Cert Ed) gained at Oxford Brookes University qualifying him to teach ‘post-secondary education’ and graduated from Leicester University with a Masters in the Study of Security Management. He is certified to deliver Title IV liquor license training throughout the state of Arizona at both basic and management level.
